When I opened the surf school, back in 2001, it didn’t existed any surf school in Praia da Areia Branca, a small beach village close to Peniche / Baleal.
At that time I was working in tourism industry as a tour guide and tour operator. As a local surfer, I had the idea of combining my two passions: SURF and TOURISM.
Ripar Surf School was born!
Since then, we helped many dreams of ridding waves to become true.
I worked with several surf instructors through all these years. All local surfers, with new ideas of teaching. They all made a great job!
After almost 15 years of teaching people how to surf, we filtered the best teaching methods, the best equipment, and the best decisions of where and when to surf.
Lots of good memories and exciting moments lead us to what we are now:

I don’t have words the describe the actual surf instructors team and Ripar Staff. They are definitely the best! Their dedication, professionalism and ocean knowladge is amazing!
Regarding accommodation for your holidays, you may choose to stay in one of our lodging partners. We choose the best options available for you (surf camp, beach hostel, beach bungalows or independent apartments).
Our surf base is located 25 METERS close to the main beach of Praia da Areia Branca, one of the most beautiful beach villages in Portugal.
A dressing area and shower are at your disposal. After the surf lessons, you may just chill on the beach, or enjoy some of the extra activities that we offer such as yoga, shiatsu massages or stand up paddle.
